RARE Vintage 9.5 Kelsey Murphy Pilgrim Cameo Glass Vase. Vase is cobalt blue with silver clouds and white design. Scene is a mythological (possibly Greek or Roman) scene showing men and women in the forest playing various musical instruments with birds flying above.
Bottom is signed 1988 Kelsey/Pilgrim with inventory number 9000086. Bought as part of the wonderful estate of a life long collector of Fenton and Pilgrim glass. No cracks or chips observed. In 1987, Kelsey Murphy and Robert Bomkamp joined the company and soon began experimenting with the cameo glass technique.In the 14 remaining years of glass production at Pilgrim (the factory closed in 2001), Murphy and Bomkamp created hundreds of designs and pioneered a new tradition of American Super Cameo.
