31 Blenko Architectural Decanter No. 5815L Blue Art Glass Genie Bottle Vase

5815L Blue Art Glass (Genie Bottle Vase). Rare opportunity to own a massive Blenko 5815L decanter made in 1959. This quintessential mid century modern item is in excellent condition and is free of chips, cracks and mineral deposits... This decanter is 31" with original, matching, stopper and just over 11" wide.

The stopper alone is 8" tall by 4-1/2" wide. It is definitely for the serious Blenko collector. The 5815L Architectural Decanter does not appear on the market often. The letter "L" in the model number denotes "large".

Similar smaller decanters were made in this shape but this was the largest. All photos taken in natural sunlight for accurate representation of actual color. Characteristics to mention being hand blown include: a rough pontil on base, bubble inclusions, free form lip, ground mouth and matching ground stopper. This decanter can be seen on page 5 of Blenko's 1959 glass catalog. Note: the three dark spots seen in the base are applied felt scratch protectors... Easily removed if you desire.
