IT MEASURES A WONDERFUL FLORAL VASE DISPLAY SIZE: 6 3/4 " HIGH, X 2 1/4 " WIDE ACROSS THE TOP OPENING, X 3 WIDE ACROSS THE FINELY GROUND PONTIL BASE. IT HAS NOT BEEN WASHED, CLEANED, OR POLISHED. Victor Durand was the inventor of the Threaded Glass application.. By the turn of the century Art Nouveau become very popular in America, thanks to artists like Louis Comfort Tiffany, Frederick Carder, Arthur J. Went out on his own to create some of the finest circa early 1900's American Art Glass ever made.. Durand art glass received the Medal of Honor at the Sesquicentennial International Exposition in Philadelphia in 1926. Many Durand pieces were not signed, especially the early wares.They were marked with silver and black paper labels, which usually wore away over time leaving the pieces unmarked today. Some had a hand incised marked reading only Durand. " Sometimes the brand was accompanied by a large "V and numbers indicating the shape number and height of the piece.
