Here we have a pale aqua blue lozenge vase with fused flying saucer or fried egg shaped applications of darker blue outer and clear inner glass. Barovier-Toso made this type of embedded shape art glass very subtle in the 30s and 40s and more pop art - like in the 50s and 60s. My understanding is the Studio artists made these with designs by Ecole Barovier. He did several series with circles like Dorico and pulled applications in his Mugni vessels. Measures 14"H and 6"W midway.
This rare gem has 6 applied oval shapes about 4" x 2.5" each. The clear centers rise like low mounds. One is able to feel them inside and outside. Has a classic Barovier silver dollar sized clear polished scoop pontil mark.
