Hand Blown Glass Contemporary Art Vase Purple Red Gold Aqua Green Blue Dirwood

This free-form and fluted hand blown glass vase is in my "End Of Day GlassĀ®" series. It has shades of purple, gold topaz, green, red, aquamarine, pink, lemon yellow, blue and more. I often make these pieces at the "End of the Day" with the left over color chips.

This work is in perfect condition and has no chips, cracks or any structural defects. This piece is very stable and will not wobble at all. It has been signed and dated on the bottom. Sent along with this piece comes an artist picture and bio.

This is a great opportunity to own a very unique and beautiful piece of art and help out a new artist at the early stages of a career too!!! Thanks for looking and good luck!!! If "signature required" does not work for you, PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHEN YOU PAY. My name is Darren, and in 2005 I began my own glassblowing workshop and company called Dirwood Glass. For the past decade, I have been sharing my passion for glass through exhibiting art at museums across the nation, creating and collaborating with companies as prestigious as Ferrari (you can see some of the photos below), as well as creating unique art for individual collectors.

The most recent leap in my career, has been creating a mobile glass furnace, which has enabled me to share my passion for the art and process of blowing glass outside of the studio, and into the world. The Ferrari of Glass Is Right Here On. Installation and Ferrari trophies on display at the Cincinnati Art Museum. Dale Chihuly is one of the world's greatest glass makers alive! Here are some projects I created that were inspired by him..

One of my favorite applications of color use in the blowing process is working with glass canes. All these bowls are made with the techniques of pulling and fusing glass canes to create the patterns.

Here are some pictures of my Mom and I pulling some canes. I really love this process... It's exciting stretching molten glass across the driveway. It is really important that the glass be at just the right temperature, because if the glass is too hot, it falls to the ground and if its not hot enough it won't pull. Depending on the type of canes we pull, sometimes we pull them over 100 feet!

Darren Goodman was born in 1981 in Maineville, Ohio. He was first introduced to the glass blowing process at college. A graduate of Bowling Green State University, Goodman apprenticed under glass master Leon Applebaum in Corning, New York. He has also studied with studio glass legends Dante Marioni, Lino Tagliapietra and Davide Salvadore. In 2005 the young artist established his own glass studio in Waynesville, Ohio.

Two years later Ferrari North America commissioned him to create trophies for the International Challenge Races. A teacher as well as an artist, Goodman has coordinated classes for students at elementary and high school levels. His work has been exhibited and shared with audiences throughout the World. Goodman employs a hands-on approach and shares the tenets of the studio glass movement.

He is concerned with the distinct properties of the material and embraces both the practices tradition and experimentation. Through his work he explores the textures, scale, and the implied functionality of each piece. He also emphasizes the collaborative and performance aspects of glassmaking, which is in keeping with the movements emphasis on process. Most recently his "Glass Experience", a performance which combines both his musical and glassblowing creations into a interactive production, is being shared with people around the world.

Through the common theme of team-work through glassblowing, Goodman translates into our everyday life, the unlimited potential of working together. At an early age Goodman is showing many signs of having a prosperous and glowing career ahead of him. He specializes in installations, vases, bowls, and and is available for custom projects and commissions.
