Authentic Signed R Lalique Ceylan Vase Opalescent Blue 1924 Model 905 Excellent Condition. A stunning Opalescent'Ceylan' vase by René Lalique. This is considered by many to be one of the most desirable René Lalique collectibles. This classic Ceylan vase features eight parakeets in High detail with each perched on a branch.
The entire vase is opalescent with each parakeet being emphasised by the opalescence. René loved working with opalescent glass and this is some of his best work. You should know that the color varies depending on lighting conditions.
In some lighting the blue is very apparent and in some other lighting you can barely see the color. That's just the nature of Lalique's opalescent glass. A dark background helps to bring out the blue coloring. Measures just slightly under 9.5 inches tall by 5.25 inches diameter at the top and 3.375 diameter at the bottom. The R Lalique signature is wheel cut on the bottom as photographed.The vase is referenced in Marcilhac, Page 418, #905. Excellent condition with no chips, scratches, bruises, fleabites, scuffs, or other visible damage.
