Rare Antique Loetz Rubin Matt Iris Floral 10 1/2 inch Vase Dek 1/116 ca 1898

From a local smoke free house is this rare antique Loetz Rubin Matt Iris floral vase dating to ca. The vase has a double gourd like shape, we believe this is Loetz form number 728, and is decorated in Rubin Matt Iris iridescence, using a technique which utilized etching ink and gold. The color is beautiful and glows a deep iridescence blueish purple over a deep ruby red base glass.

The bottom has a ground and polished pontil and is marked with the Dekor number 1/116 in gold. The vase measures about 10 7/8 inches high and about 5 3/8 inches wide.

The vase is in good condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs. It has wear and loss to the gold highlights especially the outlines of the floral decoration. See photos as they are part of the description.
