René Lalique 1919 Fleurettes Vase Great Condition Signed R Lalique (Rene)

This is an authentic René Lalique Fleurettes vase. René Lalique designed his "Fleurettes" (little flowers) bathroom set in 1919. The largest piece was the Bottle number 1 which was 20 cm (8) tall. Here is one of these bottles with an original pre-1921 signature. The actual signature (Photo 7) is as depicted in the unofficial "Lalique Bible", the large Marcilhac book.

The bottle was most likely broken at the neck at some point in time and it was repaired into a 15 cm (6) vase. The repair was extremely well done. Thus was born a very unique piece, a "Fleurettes Vase" although Lalique never created one.

It seems almost too large for a perfume or cologne bottle. It is a nice size for a vase. See our last photo which shows it alongside René Laliques Avallon vase for size comparison. The "vase" is made of frosted 12% demi crystal with 4 vertical ribbons of blue patina little flowers. The condition of the resulting piece is excellent, letting one almost forget that this was once a bottle.

In particular, the blue patina is wonderfully preserved. Obviously this piece has no entry in the Marcilhac book, but the bottle it used to be is referenced and photographed on page 341 of the 2011 French printing. The caption specifies that the bottle was produced until 1937 and never afterwards. 6" tall, the vase measures 4" at the base and 2.2 at the opening, with a flawless new rim obviously made by a very qualified professional. The condition is excellent and the signature under the base well defined.

For a collector, here is an authentic René Lalique piece with a history, truly one of a kind and not to be found anywhere else. Condition is mint with zero defects and no damage.
