The catalog number is 7740 and it was made in 1977. I've never seen one in person.
So when I put eyes on it, I was amazed at just how large this spectacular piece of art glass is. In the catalog it states that it is to be 11 and 1/2 in tall.
This one happens to be 12 and 1/4 in tall with a 10 and 1/2 in diameter. The colors are mesmerizing and the combination is tantalizing and very attractive.
In my years of looking for this line of glass, I found a few pieces but they in many cases had cracks in the glass. My guess is that this particular recipe is more susceptible to variance in ambient temperatures.
So this is a piece you might want to keep in a consistently heated or constant temperature environment. My packaging will be an initial layer of foam sheeting with an outer layer of a silver foil bubble wrap bag.
The initial layer of sheet foam and then the foil bubble wrap bag will help keep the temperature constant and help mitigate any temperature changes. Finally, more bubble wrap over that and inserted into a box that fits the jug with peanuts. That will be the inner box.It will be placed in yet a larger box to leave room for yet again more peanuts to insulate this large jug for a safe journey to you. Please by all means take a moment and look at my feedback regarding my packaging abilities you won't be disappointed.
Now let's talk about condition. To collectors condition is everything. This specimen is in fine collectors quality.
There are protective pads on the bottom of the jug to help insulate it from shelf wear. One pad is missing there are four on it now. There is only one slight scratch under the fifth pad which is missing. In any other case, without the pads this thing would have quite a bit of shelf wear but it does not.
It is nearly pristine on the bottom as well as the sides the shoulders the neck and rim. The rim is slightly crackled. There are no through cracks.
Any abnormalities in the surface of this area is from the natural process that took place when they manufactured it to crackle on the top. I've been to the Blenko glass factory and watched this process in person. They put the item in water and it crackles. The item is still so hot that it manages to still stay cohesive and that's how they do it. There are no chips, scratches other than the one I mentioned which is on the bottom as would be expected normally anyway. There are no flea bites. The glass is clean and clear and most likely has never seen a drop of water or liquid. There are no water stains or glass sickness which is something that I always look for. In summary, you're looking at something that's only appeared once in 17 years and I look everyday. Please look at the pictures closely and you will be able to ascertain that this is an offering that you may not see again especially in the very fine condition that this spectacular art piece is being presented.
I have around 30 pictures of this from every angle. I can prove this is in pristine condition. That won't happen with this listing.
And whoever is asking can package it up as expertly as I have to them and send it back promptly insured for what was paid for it. I don't play games I'm an honest player and I don't like being played. There is absolutely no guarantee this will be relisted for the same price if at all.
