Vintage MICHAEL NOUROT 1980 Art Glass Vase / 11.25 INCHES / Rare STRIPES & SPOTS

Put this item on your Watchlist to receive notifications every time there is a price drop. Micheal Nourot began his career blowing glass in San Francisco's Ghirardelli Square. Quickly outgrowing the small studio, Nourot moved across the bay to Benicia in 1974 where the studio is still located today. Micheal became a major force in American art glass, imparting his wisdom on new generations of glass blowers up until his sudden death in 2015 at the age of 66.

For the last ten years, art glass made by Micheal himself has steadily grown in value. This extraordinary vase is unlike anything of Micheal's I have ever seen. It was hand blown from thick blue glass and has burgundy stripes and splotches amid a swarm of bubbles. Could this be a representation of seaweed floating in an azure ocean? The bottom has Micheal's signature as well as a studio marking'Nourot SP 143 80' - the'80' stands for the year 1980.

The vase measures 11.25 inches tall by 6.5 inches wide and is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks.
